Day Thirty-One: Following Direction

Today, instead of just a picture, I'm posting a video.  Here is Ollee showing how great she is at sitting and staying, even with food around....

Day Thirty: Such a Sweet Pup

Today, I'm not feeling well, so most of the day was sitting around watching movies.  This doesn't help an energetic puppy, but Ollee and I had a wonderful day together.  We played fetch in the hallway, and she entertained herself outside for a bit, but most of the day was spent with her curled up on my lap or next to me.  She's just so bloody sweet!  Today's picture is from when we went outside this evening, it's super blurry because she's jumping around in circles, and my phone isn't too good with the action shots!

Day Twenty-Nine: There's a Monster Under My Bed!

Since I first adopted Ollee, she has LOVED crawling under things; the couch, the bed, the chairs in the dining room--though she has gotten too big to get under the couch anymore--other than her head (she seems to be quite bothered by this, since she hung out under there a lot).  My bed is quite a bit taller, so when I first got her, she was able to just walk right under it.  Now she has to completely flatten herself to shimmy underneath.  It's pretty amusing, because it actually takes a lot of work for her to get under!  When I go to bed, I can often hear her scuffling to get under, and then feel her bumping around down there.  It's too funny!

This morning, she got about half way, and then stopped, I thought for a moment that maybe she was as far as she was able to go anymore, but after a bit, she continued under and disappeared.  She's so funny.

It actually looks like there is a lot of headroom under there! She may not outgrow under the bed for sometime!

UPDATE:  Later this afternoon, I was sitting on the couch, and heard a scuffle...turns out Ollee can still fit under the couch, barely!  It took her a bit, but she popped up on the other side of the couch.  So she has figured out that her favorite hiding place is still available to her :)

Day Twenty-Eight: Psycho Hyper Pup

This week has been a busy one for me, which means that poor Olls had been cooped up far too much for a energetic puppy.  Well, today it all seemed to come out in a matter of about an hour.  She was insane, nipping, running all over, and barking up a storm.  All things that are not in the norm for her.  So when she calmed for a bit, and I decided that I would let her up to snuggle.  So currently, I have a crashed out pups curled up on me.  Since my camera and phone are no where within reach, I decided to use Photobooth on my computer.

She's looking a bit pissy here...the bright light and sound of the computer woke her up.

She is not looking happy here at all...shortly after this was taken, she got up and laid on the floor.

Day Twenty-Seven: Ollee with the B Boys

The last time that Ollee met my best friend and her 2 boys, she was just a tiny little thing.  This was 8 weeks, and more than 12 pounds ago.  Tonight we went to our usual dining spot, the Spaghetti Factory.  It's great for her 2 boys (Solly, 2 and a half year old and Abe, a 3 and a half year old), as they cater to families and children--plus I love their food :).  After dinner the boys wanted to see Ollee, so I got her out of the car, and we headed to a grassy area for them to play.  Ollee is still learning not to jump up on people, but I think she did pretty good with the boys, since they aren't much taller than she is.  She was also far more interested in the grass than the boys.  I didn't get a lot of great shots of her with the boys, but here are a few.

I was able to get my January family shot this night too :)
**This took far too long for me to upload these pictures...Maybe I just need to stick to taking pics with my camera!

Day Twenty-Six: A Love/Hate Relationship

Since the first day that I brought Ollee home, she has both loved and hated the hair dryer.  When it gets turned on she is immediately in the bathroom.  There are days when she fully attacks the air blowing out, and other days where she leans against me and just loves the warm air on her fur.  This love comes in handy considering that she has very thick hair, and tends to stay wet.  She'll let me completely blow dry her fur!  The hate toward the hair dryer is something that does get in the way when I am drying my hair, and she decides to attack it...and my head is in the way!

The Love

The Hate

Not sure if it's love or hate, but I love the tongue...so I had to share :)

Day Twenty-Five: A Try at the Monthly Family Pic...

I decided when I got Olls that I would take a picture of the two of us toward the end of each month...well, here we are, the end of the month.  So, since I live alone, and there isn't anyone around to take this month's picture, I tried (yes, I said tried) to take it using the timer on my camera.  I didn't think it would work well...and I was right.  The pictures that probably would have turned out great, had my head cut off, or Ollee moved, so she's blurry.  Guess I'll try again on another day.  Here are some of the attempts.

Great one of her!
If only she wasn't glowing, and my head wasn't cut off...this would be perfect!

Again, if only my head wasn't cut off!

Day Twenty-Four: She's Won the Battle, But Not the War

Ollee and I are in a constant battle of her wanting despirately to come up on to the couch or the bed to snuggle, and me not wanting her to get into the habit of being on the furniture.  Tonight, Ollee's sweet snuggling nature and perseverance won out.  I allowed her up to snuggle--which is something she LOVES.  She just snuggles right up to you, and nuzzles you.  I love it!

"Come on, I'm super excited, and I love you"

"Please!!!  I'm a happy pup!"

"Look, now I'm down, and you can bring me up!  I got off like you said!"

"Mission accomplished!!  HA!  I won!!!"

Day Twenty-Three: Favorite Spot

Ollee has found her favorite spot in the house.  She will sit there on the carpet for hours, looking out the window.  She especially likes it on cold days, since the heater vent is right there, blowing on her.  Today, she is even taking her Ellie the Elephant over to join her.

Since as soon as she sees me walking toward her, and she gets up to meet me, I had to be stealthy to get pictures--and take them from the other side of the table.  You can't see Ellie, but she's there.

Day Twenty-Two: 4 Months

Today is Ollee's 4 month birthday, though most people look at her and think she's a full grown terrier--nope, she's got A LOT more growing to do!

The sun came out for the occasion, so Olls and I were able to play outside and enjoy ourselves this morning!! :)  Though I hate how the 3 birch trees in my yard drop endless branches, Ollee LOVES that they do.  She throws them to herself and runs around collecting them all.

Day Twenty-One: Holy Moly!!

Ollee was weighed on Monday at the vet and she was 23 pounds.  Tonight she was weighed again, and she was more than 25!!!  The girl has put on more than 2 pounds in 4 days!!! 4 DAYS!!!  The doc said that starting at 16 weeks (which is how old she is on the nose) to 30 weeks, she will grow the most, and fast!!  WOW!!!  Olls is going to be HUGE!

Day Twenty: Morning Play

After sleeping through the night, Ollee runs around like a crazy pup for awhile in the mornings.  Here she is with one of her favorite toys--which is the ultimate dog toy, squeaker soft middle, ropes for arms and legs, and then hard plastic feet, I love the feet!!

Day Nineteen: "I Just Want to be Close to You"

I've said it a lot in just the last 19 days, but Ollee is a super snuggler.  If I'm on the couch she wants to be on me, on the couch.  If that can't happen, she's laying on my blanket tucked up against the couch.  If I'm standing in the kitchen she's sitting on my feet, leaning against my legs (when she gets bigger she'll be knocking me over)...it's really never ending...I love it, the best is when she's got her front feet up, and she snuggles her head against me.

Tonight was no exception.  The entire evening was filled with me telling her "Off," to get her to get those front feet off the couch.  This works only for the moment, because she's soon back up, giving me those sweet puppy dog eyes, tugging at my heart strings about how horrible it is on the floor, and if I loved her she'd be up with me--okay, it's just a look, but a lot can be read into that look!  I took a ton of pictures of her trying desperately to get up.  Not many turned out, since I was using my phone--and they are super grainy.

"Let me up"
"I'm already half way up, PLEASE"

Day Eighteen: All Clean

As odd as this sounds, today, Ollee got her first real bath.  She's had "sponge" baths before, but never a full on bath.  She was pretty good while in it.  She even stayed in the tub when I told her to, so I could grab a towel.  So now she is all fluffy and soft.  My last dog had short lab-like hair.  Ollee has longer whispy, soft hair...so this is different.  Is it bad that I used Herbal Essences on her?  She smells yummy, and is silky soft :)  A friend of mine suggested using my shampoo...less harsh chemicals and leaves the fur nicer.  It really does leave her so soft and lovely!  Mental noting, baths will be happening lots, due to how nice she looks and feels :)

She also was vary naughty when I got home--wouldn't go potty after being inside all day.  She decided to run around the back yard like a crazy pups in the pouring rain--which I was standing in, waiting, for over a half hour!  So she's grounded tonight, and the reason for the bath is because she was SOOO muddy.  When I say grounded, I mean from attention.  Ignoring her works--that's all it takes.  So a picture may not be posted this evening, as she has come to love getting her picture taken...we shall see.

Alrighty, I took a quick picture on my photobooth with the colored pencil effect on...turned out kinda neat.

Day Seventeen: Getting Bigger and Bigger

Olls got weighed today, and at almost 4 months, she's weighing in at slightly more than 23 pounds!  When I adopted her at Thanksgiving, she was 13 pounds!  In less than 2 months she's put on 10 pounds!!  Nuts how fast these little guys grow!

Here is a picture of her showing how she can sit and stay, even when her brekky or din-din is awaiting her :)

Grainy, I know...dim lighting+phone camera will do that

Day Sixteen: Exhausted

I think that Ollee played herself out yesterday, since today she has spent most of the day sleeping and snuggling.  There was a brief moment of play, where we played fetch for about 15 minutes, but otherwise, she slept the day away!

I told you she's a snuggler.  If she can't be laying on me, she snuggles with her stuffy!

Absolutely exhausted!

It's like the stuffed puppy is her snuggle buddy...just too cute!

Day Fifteen: Ollee's Best Playtime Friend

From the first moment that she met him, I think she fell in love.  I'm referring to my friend Pete.  A while back Ollee and I went down to my friends' Pete and Michele's house in Salem, and Ollee and Pete became fast friends.  Here are a few videos from that encounter--she looks so tiny!!  These were taken on December 11th, 2010:

Ollee has seen him twice since, and everytime she gets incredibly excited!  Today, Michele and Pete came over for a visit.  At least this time, Ollee didn't pee at the sight of Pete.

Here is where Ollee climbed up Pete and sat on his head!

And then where Pete wore Ollee as a scarf:

Day Fourteen: Bringing the Outside In

Oh how I love when Ollee brings things in from the yard to chew on in the house (**please note the sarcasm).  This evening was the battle of the stick.  Let me just say, she's getting rather fast, and catching on to all my tricks!!  She brought in a long skinny stick, and quickly had it chewed down to a much shorter version.  She's not eating it, just chewing it up and leaving pieces all over the carpet!  In this pic, it's the smaller version of the stick showing--you have too look closely, as it blends into the background.  I love the look on her face--like what?

Day Thirteen: Living Life to It's Fullest

Today, I took the day off to head down to Salem.  A close family friend passed away last weekend.  He was taken too soon, and the last 9 years he was very ill.  My heart is warmed by the fact that in those 9 years he did everything he wanted/needed to do, traveled the world, met his 5th grandchild, and lived FAR longer than expected.  Each of those bonus days was lived to it's fullest.  He will be missed by all that met him.

Since I was going to be in Salem for an unforeseen amount of time, I took Ollee with me and my parents, and she hung out in the car (getting mini walks throughout the day).  Here is a picture of her, trying to come over the seat to snuggle with my mom, who was in the back seat. It was her first time riding in the car with a passenger in that back.  Ollee didn't really know what to do with herself.  Someone was so close, and yet that seat sat between them.  She was caught many times with her cold nose against the back of my mom's neck!  LOL!

Day Twelve: Endless Circles

As most puppies are, Ollee is a fan of chasing her own tail.  Everytime she does it, I just crack up!  Tonight it got even better, as she got hold, wouldn't let go, but couldn't understand why she couldn't get back up easily, once she laid down!  Too funny!!  So to show this, I couldn't just do a photo, I had to capture it with video.  So today's entry is a video :)

**Sorry it's a bit shaky...I was trying really hard not to laugh out loud, as that usually makes her stop.

Day Eleven (the second of 4 days of ones): Tormenting the Pups

As bad as it sounds...I tend to get a laugh from tormenting my puppy.  She likes to steal my socks, from the hamper, from the clean laundry pile, even from the drawer...if she can access it, she is after it!  So I found some socks that I don't want anymore, and have given them to her.  Not tormenting, you say?  Well, I then proceeded to put the sock over Olls face, so she would have to work to get it off...it's pretty funny to watch, and she's getting really good at removing them!  Below is a series of her removing the sock.

Of course it's much better when you can flip through them on the screen :)
