Day Fifty-Nine: A Much Loved Toy

This has been Ollee's favorite toy as of late.  She is certainly beginning to teethe!!  That panda used to have 2 feet attached, and the one that's still there is barely holding on!!  She tends to find this one, no matter where it is in the house!!

Fifty-Eight: Trying to Sleep

Today was spent trying to make up for the sleep I missed last night. This was not something that Ollee would let me do. One minute she wanted to play, the next she was running up and down the halls like a crazy pup. Here she is standing on the bed...wanting to play. I brought her up to try to get her to calm down and snuggle for a bit...yeah, that didn't work at all!!

Day Fifty-Seven: Fuzzy Face

Olls has a lot of fuzzy fur on and around her face.  Normally, it looks like this:

Her terrier side shows in those whispy hair, and she looks so happy and sweet :)

But I like messing up her hair...like this:

As you can see...she doesn't like it much when I do this!  LOL!

Day Fifty-Six: On Hold

For the moment, my old modem is working...here is a picture of Ollee from last night, while she waited patiently for me to get off the phone with the internet people (I'm in Olle's room--also known as the box room).  Compare this to Day One, and you can see how much she's grown and changed in the past 56 days....Click Here.

Day Fifty-Five: First Snow Day

Since Miss Ollee is only 5 months old, she has not yet known the greatness of snow!  This morning, I got the call that my district is closed--a perk of being a teacher, you still get snow days, and so Olls and I went outside to check out why schools were closed.  Based on my yard, I don't get why we're closed, but Ollee was super excited to check out the dusting of snow that's on the deck!

I took a few videos too, though it doesn't show the initial excitement she had!

Once the "sun" came out, Olls and I headed out to play some more in the snow...

And true to form, schools closed due to fairly nothing...roads around here have been clear all day, and now, at noon, the snow is all but gone...but it gave me a chance to play with Olls in the snow :)

3:30p: And it's snowing again, and Ollee LOVED the big flakes coming down...check out this video, she's trying to catch the flakes in her mouth!

Whew that was a long entry...but snow is just so exciting!!!

Day Fifty-Three: Hide and Seek

Today Olls turned 5 months old.

I learned with my last dog, that toys disappear, and then are suddenly laying on the carpet again, and being played with as though they were brand new.  It's like they hide them somewhere, and then all the sudden find them.  I think they play hide and seek with them.  Ollee is no different.  She got a squeaky football toy from my Aussie friends for Christmas, and it has consistently been her favorite fetch toy.  Yet, it has been "missing" for a few weeks.

Tonight, Ollee was "digging" under the chair...
...and low and behold, what does she come out with??  Her football...

...and of course, we had to play fetch with it!! :)

Day Fifty-Two: Day 2 of Fun with the B Boys

The B Boys are my best friend, Adriane's sons.  A is 3 and a half, and S is 2 and a half!  They are so fun.  Today we all went to the Education Rally in Salem, Oregon.  To try to get it across to the governor that schools NEED to be fully funded.  After a lovely day in the sun, we all headed to my place to play with Ollee.  She was super excited to see the boys again!!!

Here is Ollee checking out A

Then A took a pic of Ollee and I--He certainly caught Olls with an interesting face!!

Day Fifty-One: Hands, Pt. 2

On Day 7, I posted an entry called hands.  It showed a picture of Ollee's paw in my hand.  Which showed how big her paws were.  Well, now 44 days later, he paws are bigger, so I thought I would do a part two of this entry.  If you would like to see part 1, click here.

Of course, Ollee moved her head when I took this one...she was excited to give a high five!

She's a bit out of focus here...

Day Fifty: Passed Out Pup

Today brought some lovely sunny weather, though chilly, just lovely.  I left the back door open so Ollee could go in and out as she pleased.  Man, did she ever run and run...for hours!  Once she calmed down...she passed out cold, on me!!

Excuse how amazingly pale I look in this!
BTW-I can't believe we're 50 days into 2011!!!  Time is passing so quickly!

Day Forty-Nine: Naughty Dogs Don't Get Snuggles

Ollee is constantly stealing my socks and running away.  I believe it's become a game to her, so I ignore her or tempt her with treats to get my socks back.  Tonight, because she stole my socks, she is grounded from snuggles.  She didn't like that too much.

Looks at those sad eyes...it's so hard to follow through with no snuggles!

Day Forty-Eight: Angles, Pt. 2

Olls has changed a lot in the past few months....On day 2, I posted an entry called Angles, and I thought today, I would try to get similar angles of her cute little face, and then the changes would be apparent! :) To see the angles entry, click here.

Day Forty-Seven: Warmth

With the cold weather, I am consistently finding Ollee sitting on or near heater vents.  You'd think with her thick fluffy fur she'd be warm.  She either sits in front of the back door with her head over the vent, while watching the backyard, or she's under my bed, where there is another vent.  It does get pretty toasty under there, since it's an enclosed space.  Tonight she was really into hiding.  First, I couldn't find her, and when I called, I heard a massive scuffle under the couch--I think she was fast asleep, because she didn't respond right away.  Then as soon as we came into the bedroom to go to bed, she disappeared.  When I looked for her, I saw that she had immediately slipped under the bed.  This is all I saw:

When I called for her, her tail disappeared, and her head popped out :)

I think she was ticked that I disturbed her!

Day Forty-Six: Being Clean=Crazy!?

I've had many dogs throughout my life, and ALL of them went NUTS after they had a bath!  Ollee is no different.  Since she was kind enough to roll in something stinky this afternoon, she got a quick bath...from the moment I dried her off, she was running through the house, leaping, jumping, and chasing her tail.  The only time she stopped was when she desperately wanted me to throw her toy for her to fetch it.  I'm not sure why being clean does this to the dogs...but it is certainly entertaining!

Day Forty-Five: Ollee...Comic Book Style

Had some fun tonight with the comic book setting on Photo Booth...I think that Ollee the Avenger would make a great comic!!!  ;)

This is using the flash screen...it always seems to wash out the subject of the pics

This is without the flash screen...looks more comic booky to me!

Day Forty-Three: An Amazing Vet

I met Dr. Horner last year, when Hays was very ill.  He helped me have 5+ wonderful bonus months with my sweet girl, when other vets would have looked at her test results and said there was no chance.  He believes in looking at the entire dog, not just the numbers on test results.  He loved Hays, and cried when I broke the news to him that I lost her.  Because of this, there is no other vet that I would take Ollee to.  Ollee just loves him.  As soon as he walks into the room she gets so excited.  She even likes him after he gives her shots.

Here is Ollee with Dr. Horner

If you ever need a caring and wonderful vet, call Banfield Pet Hospital in Clackamas, and make sure to ask to see Dr. Horner!

Day Forty Two: Stick Play

Ollee loves to pick up just about anything when we go outside...let me just say that there is a lot less moss in my grass than there was before Olls came along.  Today she was all about this stick!  She sure is loving the birch trees in my yard that are never ending branch droppers!  Action shots are difficult to grab on the phone, but these certainly show the movement!

You can see here what a large stick she decided to drag around...
Through chewing and tossing, the stick became much shorter.

Day Forty-One: Stressed

Today was a stressful day, so I came home, played with Olls a bit, and then relaxed on the couch.  Ollee seems to get that on the days that I need to be calm, she needs to be calm too.  She wanted to play fetch a bit, but there was no overly hyper pup.  She kept herself busy this evening.  What a good dog! :)

Grainy, but she's just too dang cute :)

Day Forty: Afternoon Fetch

This afternoon, Ollee and I enjoyed the brisk sunny weather by playing some fetch outside.  We haven't been too successful playing outside (though we are great at it inside)....today, she caught on and was dropping the ball at my feet.  Here is a series of the typical fetch session :)

Day Thirty Nine: Early Morning

For work, my alarm goes off at 5:30a.  This means that even on weekends, Ollee is used to waking up and going out at this time.  During the week, as soon as she hears the alarm go off she's right by the side of the bed, wanting attention.  This morning, I wasn't ready to get out of bed yet, and she wouldn't let me snooze, so I brought her up on the bed for a bit of a snuggle.  While checking my email, she curled up with her head on my lap, and watched the screen.  Such a sweet pups!

This was taken with Photo Booth on my computer.  And of course she moved as soon as the picture was taken.

Day Thirty-Eight: The Excitement That Is, "Mom is Home!!!"

This video shows the excitement that Olls has when I get home from work every day and take her outside--at some point I'll try to capture her when I first walk in the door.  Craziness!  After a small bit of this, playing some fetch, and eating din-din...she calms and is back to her snuggle-self :)  But you've got to love to be missed and loved like this!

Day Thirty-Seven: Jumping on the Deck

Ollee has gotten big enough now to jump up on to the deck.  It's about 2-3 feet off the ground, so it's a big jump for a little pup!

I'm quite impressed with this shot, since it was taken with my phone, and it's an action shot.  This is her jumping up on to the deck after I called her to come in.

Day Thirty-Six: Bath Time!

Ollee does pretty well in the bath...but we'll see how that goes when she's a lot bigger and I'm not able to hold her in the tub. Here is a video of her after her bath this morning.

Day Thirty-Five: Nose Bumps

When I first met Ollee at the Humane Society, she climbed up on my lap and nose bumped (like a fist bump, but with a nose) me on my nose.  It was the cutest thing.  She still does it, and I will put my hand out and say, "nose bump," and she will nose bump my hand.  It's pretty cool and sweet, really.  Here she is nose bumping the camera :)

Day Thirty-Four: Only Evening This Week with Mom

This week has been a busy one...this evening was the only one this week that I was home right after work, and able to play and play and play some more with Olls.

This is the face I come home to every day!  Too cute to resist!  BTW-she just walks into her kennel freely every morning!

PLAYTIME!!!!

Day Thirty-Three: Giraffe Obsession

It was suggested to me when I got Ollee that I rotate out her toys, then she will always be interested, and when the old ones come back into play, it'll be like they are brand new again.  I've been doing this, and though she knows exactly where her basket of toys is in the guest room, she still gets SO excited when I trade for "new" ones.  Currently Ellie the Elephant has been rotated out, and now Olls is obsessed with her giraffe toy.  She carries it around with her, wants to play fetch with it, and will even play fetch with other toys, while still carrying the giraffe around.  Tonight she even tried to pick up the other toy when she already had the giraffe in her mouth--it didn't work, but man did she try!

You can't totally see the giraffe in this one, but you can see her favorite way to carry the fellow around, by his scarf!!!

Day Thirty-Two: Waiting for the Throw

Ollee is very good at playing fetch.  She is happy to run after her toys when you throw them, and she will happily give it back to you, so that you may throw it again.  She is often setting her ball or toy on my lap when I'm on the couch, nudges it, and looks back and forth between me and the toy longingly.  It's a never ending cycle, and it's a lot of fun!

Here Olls is waiting patiently for me to throw her loofa dog!  She looks so tiny in this picture...trust me, she's not!
